Bucharest-based varnish and paint producer Policolor posted a net profit worth 2.6 million euros (9.2 million RON) in the first nine months of the year, 42% more than the profit posted the same time last year, according to data sent to the Stock Exchange. The company's turnover saw a 33% increase, to 32.4 million euros (111.3 million RON). Policolor surpassed total sales for 2005, which stood at less than 30 million euros (108 million RON) in the first nine months of this year. Company representatives could not be contacted for comment. Policolor sales witnessed a significant increase in the third quarter, with the turnover in the July 1- September 30 period standing at over 14.2 million euros (50.2 million RON). The third quarter is usually the best part of the year for companies producing construction materials and finishing materials in particular, due to the heavy activity seen in constructions in the summer and autumn season. Policolor has restructured its offer on the construction market last year by launching the Deko Professional range, with this segment being one of the most dynamic ones in terms of sales.
