Popoviciu gets 0.8m-euro dividends from IKEA

IKEA, the biggest local furniture retailer, will pay out 3.44million RON (0.8 million euros) in dividends to formershareholders, Engma Beheer and Turkmall Retail, companies that havebusinessman Puiu Popoviciu behind them.
He recently sold the IKEA store in Baneasa to the parent company hehad originally taken the franchise from, in a deal put by ZF atover 30 million euros.
This is the third year when the businessman collects dividends fromIKEA, after the company stepped into the black as early as in 2007,its first year of operating.
"The disbursement of 70% of the company's retained earnings asestimated on 31 December 2009 has been approved, of which 3.4million RON will be paid out in the form of dividends to thecompany's partners," reads an announcement published by the companyin the Official Gazette. IKEA representatives could not becontacted for details yesterday.
