Quadrant Amroq Beverages (QAB), the bottler of Pepsi soft drinks for the Romanian market, has relaunched the Perla mineral water brand, according to a corporate announcement. "The Perla mineral water brand was relaunched this year, and comes from a new source, S5, located in Covasna," said QAB officials, though without providing any figures for the investment. Until now, Perla was bottled by Vitarom Impex (Bucharest) and distributed by QAB. This year the company transferred the bottling for Perla mineral water to the new facility in Covasna, which was opened last year after a 7 million-dollar greenfield investment. QAB has been the distributor of Perla mineral water since 1998. Vitarom Impex, which is wholly owned by QAB, made nearly 4 million euros in sales in 2004, up 14% on the previous year. QAB also bottles Roua Muntilor mineral water, a brand first launched last summer. ZF
