Qatar Airways, Qatar's flagship carrier and one of the world'sbiggest carriers, which transported 12 million passengers last yearand operates 92 routes in Europe, Africa, South America, Asia, andthe Middle East, has started a recruitment campaign in Romania forits local office, amid plans to start operating Bucharest-Dohaflights as of January 2011, according to data on the company'swebsite.
"Qatar offers its employees packages that, apart from salaries,also include accommodation, transport, and other benefits," readsthe company's website, which does not specify the wage level.
The airline, which will introduce four weekly flights on theBucharest-Doha route on January 17th, seeks to hire personnelspecialised in marketing, sales, finances, and aeroplane ticketbooking. The company is also looking to hire crew members.
In Romania, the salary of a fully-licensed pilot amounts to5,000-6,000 euros a month, according to Pavel Tatcu, former flightinstructor at the Romanian Civil Aeronautical Authority. Officialsof Qatar Airways had failed to send data on the wages to be paidfor the jobs advertised in Romania by edition close.
Internationally, Qatar's national airline has 15,000 employees of100 different nationalities.
