Remarul "16 Februarie", a Cluj-based company specialising in manufacture and repairs of railroad vehicles, has announced it will provide services to the Greek railway operator, Greek Railways and a few trading companies in Poland. The company did not release the value of estimated contracts. The Cluj-based company repairs over 100 locomotives per year, having the National Railway Company for Passengers and Goods Transport, the National Company CFR and the Tourism Railway Company CFR as its main beneficiaries. In 1999, Remarul resumed repair work for steam locomotives for its customers in Germany and Austria. The company estimates an increase in turnover by 10% this year, against the 12 million euros seen in 2005. "We estimate to continue this growth throughout 2006, too," stated Vasile Muresan, general manager of Remarul "16 Februarie." The Cluj-based company already has business partners from Hungary, Austria and even from Germany. "The domestic market remains the profitable market, at the moment, though," added Vasile Muresan.
