"Out of all our flights in Eastern Europe, Romanian routes, in particular those to and from Bucharest, have the highest occupancy rate. In fact, Romania has the biggest market in Eastern Europe, and we intend to further develop our activities here," said Madalina Cretu, country commercial manager with the Malev airline, for Romania and Moldova. As a result, Hungarian operator Malev, will have 25 return flights a week to and from Bucharest in the summer season, as well as 14 return flights to and from Cluj-Napoca and Timisoara. Malev also increased its number of flights to and from Targu-Mures to 8 flights a week for the summer season, and will also operate three flights a week to and from Constanta. Over the last three years, the Hungarian company has opened three new destinations in Romania. Constanta and Cluj-Napoca were introduced in 2005, and Targu-Mures at the beginning of 2006. Malev also boosted its profile in Bucharest by increasing the number of flights from two to four a day.
