Romar buys clinic in Bucharest

Romar group, controlled by businessman Erghin Hagi Calil, paid 2.3m euros to acquire the entire stake in Evolution Med company Bucharest that owns a medical centre in the capital city. "The budget earmarked for investments stood at 4.8m euros, of which 2.3m euros were set aside for this acquisition. The company we bought the entire stake in owns a building that is to be appraised at a minimum level of 5m euros and where we intend to set up a hospital. This is more like a real estate investment," Erghin Hagi Calil told ZF. Three businessmen formerly held Evolution Med, but Romar representatives chose not to specify their names. Romar's investments for 2007 will also be directed towards the development of another five medical centres located in Timisoara, Brasov, Pitesti, Constanta and Galati. Besides these projects, the company will also launch, in November, a diagnosis and treatment centre in Bucharest with an area of 2,500 square metres. Romar group includes five firms and, according to Hagi Calil, will target companies outside the capital city. According to Finance Ministry data, Romar Medical Centre derived turnover worth 6.8m euros in 2006.
