09.10.2003, 00:00 18

Meat product company Cris-Tim has invested $2 million in a dry sausage and salami factory in Filipestii de Padure, Prahova County, general manager Radu Timis on Tuesday said. The facility was built through a two million dollar SAPARD financing project and its capacity will reach 10 tonnes of meat products a day, therefore boosting the group's daily output to 65 tonnes. "We are most likely to launch our new products on December 1 and make four types of salami and two types of sausages at first. We will certainly broaden our product range next year," Cristian Ungureanu, Cris-Tim's distribution manager said. The company in 2000 invested 6 million euros in a 3,500 sqm wide charcuterie factory. "Cris-Tim currently accounts for 15%-18% of the charcuterie market in Romania and we estimate turnover to be 10% higher than last year, when it reached 50 million euros," Ungureanu says. ZF
