The Romanian branch of the Greek cosmetics distributor Sarantis saw a 12.26% increase in turnover last year, against the previous year, to 32.25 million euros. Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) also rose by 12.14%, to 3.9 million euros, compared with 2005, according to the annual financial report of the Greek group. "The good results in 2006 were mainly generated by investments in marketing. Another important element in achieving the growth was the launch of new products and the expansion of already existing ranges. The increase of distribution was also helpful in achieving the 2006 results," stated Constantin Tudorache, CEO of Sarantis Romania. Sarantis Romania's contribution to the group's turnover was of 14.5% of the total returns, with the company ranking third within the group, after Greece and Poland. As regards profit, the Romanian division ranks second after Greece, with an approximately 13% contribution to the group's total profit.
