17.06.2004, 00:00 11

Bucharest-based furniture maker Silvarom, one of the leading players in its line of business in terms of sales, expects turnover to reach 20 million euros, 10% more than last year. Its revenues also increased at the same rate during the previous year. "Sales last year went up 10% and we expect a similar dynamic this year," general manager Andrei Menhardt said. Also last year, the company saw a 12% net profit rate. "Last year we invested 1.5 million euros in technology, which helped us cut costs. We have new investments worth about one million euros planned for this year, which will mainly go to finishing equipment," Menhardt added. Silvarom is currently making two types of furniture - for bedrooms and offices, which it sells on both the domestic market and abroad. Two thirds of the output is exported to Germany, Austria, Russia and the UK. ZF
