Silvarom to sell more in Romania

16.04.2003, 00:00 6

Silvarom, one of the leading furniture makers in Romania logged nearly 15 million euro (463bn ROL) turnover last year, up 9% from 2001, general manager Andrei Menhardt told Ziarul Financiar. Silvarom had posted 13.6 million euro (354bn ROL) turnover in 2001. Its 2003 prospects are somewhat more pessimistic, considering the decline on the Western market. "We hope for growth this year, but it will surely be below the one in 2002," Menhardt feels. The worst decline is registered by the German market, the destination of 90% of Silvarom's exports. The company is planning to compensate for the decline by increasing sales on the domestic market. ZF
