The Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI) will acquire 1,400 cars in financial leasing, with the value of the transaction, authorised on Wednesday by the Government, being estimated at 60 million RON. The sum includes all costs, interests, taxes and the other expenditures involved in the purchasing of the cars. The down payment, the leasing instalments as well as the other expenditures that this acquisition entails will be covered from the SRI''s budget, reads a Government release. Contracts will be awarded under the legislation regarding public acquisitions. The acquisition is necessary with a view to renewing the SRI''s car fleet and to supplementing it. The SRI currently has a significant number of Dacias in its fleet, which have been in use for over 6 years and at the same time faces a shortage of such vehicles, the release also says. ZF
