Suceava company to launch new beer

02.12.2004, 00:00 11

Bere Company Solca, which is based in Suceava and owned by a group of local investors, will launch Solca beer next spring following a two million euro investment. "We plan to sell 100,000 hectolitres during the first year on the market with a corporate and national brand, Solca. We will introduce three types of beer, largely in customised 0.66l bottles and with a range of alcohol content from 2.75% - which will compete with non-alcoholic beers - to 5.5% and of 7.2%" says Daniela Miron, one of the two partners of Bere Company Solca. She says the 0.33l container or its double size of 0.66l is more suited to this market than the half litre size. "Competition on this market is very strong, given the presence of major international players, but we are not planning on making any profit in the first two years," Miron said. The company will also enter the mineral water market next year, following a 2 million-euro investment. ZF
