Jupiter Group, controlled by a British investor, will inaugurate the Jupiter City shopping centre in Pitesti next week, which will include Praktiker, Mobexpert, Carrefour, Media Galaxy stores and a shopping gallery. The investment in this project had been previously put by Jupiter representatives at 42 million euros, with the shopping centre covering a 17-hectare area. This will be the third shopping centre to be opened in Pitesti, a city, which also hosts the Euromall shopping centre and the retail park held by Avrig 35. The latter includes an Auchan store and a Bricostore unit, and is to be expanded this year, to include an Iris Shopping Mall. Avrig 35 developer has announced a 50 million-euro investment in the retail park in Pitesti, which is its largest project outside the capital. The first shopping centre in Pitesti, Euromall, opened last spring, following an around 35 million-euro investment, developed by French-held Flash Consult Invest. Euromall Pitesti currently belongs to Austrian investment fund Immoeast, which took over the mall from Flash Consult Invest, in deal worth 87 million euros. Jupiter City project has been over 70% financed by Volksbank, with the main builder being Pitesti-based Conarg, according to information supplied by the developer.
