Toyota Romania, the importer of Toyota cars onto the domestic market, for this year foresees 52% sales growth, translating into 48% higher turnover amid the expansion of its network of dealers and the launch of some new models, according to company estimates. The 48% turnover growth target comes amid the strongly ascending figures the company posted in 2005, with turnover standing at 78 million euros, 61% higher than the value reached in 2004, namely 47 million euros. Thus, Toyota Romania is likely to reach turnover worth 115 million euros this year. After the first seven months of this year, the company's sales are on schedule, with around 3,000 vehicles sold, 48% more as compared with the 2,022 cars sold during the similar period of last year. The increase was triggered by the launch of the new small car model Yaris and of the RAV 4 SUV, as well as of the Aygo model, which sold over 100 units. The best selling Toyota model domestically after the first seven months of this year is Corolla, with almost 800 units.
