Travel agencies see $360m revenues

12.12.2002, 00:00 12

Romanian travel agencies will post some $360 million in revenues this year, up 10% since 2001, says Marcel Badescu, honourary chairman of the National Association of Travel Agencies (ANAT). Ticketing accounts for one third of sales, the ANAT official adds. The main influence on the travel agencies' activity this year was the elimination of Schengen visas, according to ANAT representatives. Another positive factor is the development of business tourism, as travel agencies also deal with conference organising. ZF
