Unita sets out to make profit

The insurance company Unita, a member of the Austrian group Wiener Staedtische, estimates it will make profit this year. "We are planning on increasing the level of our premiums so as to exceed the overall growth of the market and get a positive financial result," says Daniel Stan, deputy chief executive of the company and member of the Board of Directors. Recently, Stan''s mandate as a member of the Board of Directors was extended by four years. Company representatives did not reveal last year''s financial results. Unita reported losses for the first nine months of 2005. According to preliminary data released by the company, the insurer ended last year with revenues worth over 71.5 million euros (258.9 million RON), 62% higher in euros than in 2004. The insurer estimates to see a revenue growth exceeding the market growth this year. Last year, Unita underwrote gross premiums worth 68.1 million euros (246.6 million RON) in general insurance, 67% more than in 2004. ZF
