Univers'all sales up 50%, loses general manager

18.08.2004, 00:00 10

In the first half of this year the Univers'all store network registered an almost 50% increase in sales as compared to the corresponding period of last year. However, these results led to the resignation of the group's general manager, the Frenchman Patrick Iffly, having been appointed to this position just six months ago. "There is certainly a visible improvement in the situation, but Univers'all needs more rapid progress," stated Razvan Petrovici, chairman of the GFS group which owns Univers'all. He says that an analysis of the six months' activity indicated that performance was not in line with original plans jointly agreed upon when the contract was signed in February 2004. In this context, Petrovici explained, it was agreed that the contract should not be extended. Patrick Iffly could not be contacted for comment. The Frenchman was appointed to the position of general manager at the beginning of this year following several months of negotiations. ZF
