MHS Truck&Bus, exclusive importer of MAN lorries, has invested 6 million euros in the biggest car centre dedicated to the MAN brand on the local market. The centre takes up 12,000 square metres, of which 2,050 square metres are dedicated to servicing centres, 750 square metres to warehousing and 2,368 square metres to offices. The MAN importer also signed a new import contract with MAN Nutzfahrzeuge, the manufacturer of MAN lorries and buses, and Neoplan coaches. In 2006, the number of MAN vehicles sold on the local market amounted to 841 units- 673 of which were new vehicles, 168 were second-hand vehicles, and 120 buses and coaches. "Last year we had a 13% market share. The target for 2007 is of 15-20%. We believe this target is achievable if the producer delivers the amounts we demand. We want to be among the top three importers on the Romanian market," stated Michael Schmidt, chairman of MHS Truck&Bus. The new MAN servicing centre currently employs 50 people, with their number expected to increase to 150 by the end of the year.
