17.02.2006, 22:20 7

Beer producer Ursus Breweries, part of the international group SabMiller, will invest this year over 30 million dollars (25 million euros) in expanding production capacities of its plant in Buzau. By this investment, Ursus targets a 75% growth of its weekly production capacity. "It is our biggest investment since Ursus Breweries entered the Romanian market," stated Dieter Schulze, the company chairman. He added that the investment is aimed at developing Romanian beer brands. The company produces Ursus Premium and Timisoreana Lux in Buzau. The Buzau plant currently has an annual 800,000 hectolitre capacity and approximately 300 employees. The new bottling line will have a 45,000-bottle/hour capacity. "In addition to boosting the production capacity, this investment project will facilitate future expansion and competitive costs. This will lead to operations of Ursus Breweries Buzau rallying to SabMiller standards," stated Cristian Matei, manager of the brewery in Buzau. ZF
