July was a weaker month for voluntary pension funds compared to June, when the number of clients went up by 22,400- the highest monthly rise so far. Voluntary pension funds (3rd pillar) attracted almost 7,100 clients in July, after the overall number of people saving in such a fund reached 117,413, reveals data published by pension companies on their websites. The value of net assets managed by funds reached 47.3 million RON (around 13.4 million euros), compared with 40.1 million RON (11 million euros) at the end of the previous month. Therefore, July was much weaker for voluntary pension funds compared with June, when the number of participants rose by almost 22,400, from 87,954 to 110,316. In July, the fund with the highest rise in the number of participants was ING Optim, managed by ING Asigurari de Viata (ING Life Insurance), which attracted almost 2,800 participants.
