WindJet to fly to and from Romania as of April

The Italian airline WindJet, specialising in low-cost flights, will launch Forli-Bucharest flights as of April, when the summer schedule starts, with passengers from Romania having the possibility to continue their journey to Catania or Palermo. According to WindJet, flights from Bucharest to Italian destinations will be available as of April 14, on Mondays and Fridays. According to the company site, the price of one ticket for a Bucharest-Forli flight in April starts from 40 euros. In addition to Bucharest, WindJet will include new foreign flights on its list: Catania-Madrid, Palermo-Madrid, Catania-Barcelona, Palermo-Barcelona, Catania-Paris, Palermo-Paris, Forli-Moscow, Forli-Saint Petersburg, Venice-Barcelona and Venice-Oslo. All the company''s flights from Forli and Venice airports have connecting flights to Sicily. WindJet was set up in 2003 and transported over two million passengers last year with regular and charter flights. The company invested in developing its fleet, by acquiring three more Airbus 320 aircraft to join the eight it already had. Estimates for 2006 target 2.6 million passengers and a 20% growth in turnover. The Italian operator currently has flights from Forli to Paris, Zante and Ibiza. Mediafax
