Wolf Theiss: Bucharest office, second-largest after Vienna

22.10.2007, 20:11 10

The local office of the Austrian law firm Wolf Theiss now has 28 lawyers and is expected to generate around 3 million euros in revenues in 2007. The local office of Wolf Theiss, which is based in Vienna, was involved in two key transactions on the energy and real estate markets in Romania this year: the sale of Rompetrol and the deal whereby Allianz's real estate arm took over three office buildings in Bucharest. With the two "trophies", the Bucharest-based office of Wolf Theiss has become an important player on both the domestic law market and on the Vienna-based company's map, which has nine offices throughout the Central and Eastern Europe. "In 2007, we managed to double our team from 15 to 28 lawyers, becoming the firm's second-largest office, behind the office in Vienna, within only two years since becoming established. We participated in two high-profile transactions (Rompetrol and DEGI - Allianz's division), which are important for a relatively new firm on the market. The initial estimates that pointed to a 50% increase in revenues for 2007, seem to be on schedule," said Bryan Jardine, managing partner of the local office of Wolf Theiss.
