10m-euro investments in Crama Segarcea

17.03.2006, 00:00 17

Wine producer Crama Segarcea, a part of the farming holding Cerealcom Dolj, owned by Mihai Anghel, will complete an investment programme worth 10 million euros this year in order to relaunch Segarcea wines on the Romanian market. "We own a wine cellar and a historical vineyard and we want to see both the wine cellar and the vineyard reach a top quality level. By 2010, the results of the investments in planting vineyards and in wine cellars will show in products and on the market," said Mihai Anghel, chairman and majority shareholder of Cerealcom. Anghel specified that the company would produce 3 million litres of wine in 2010. "Important steps have been taken in other processing fields. We are merely beginners in terms of winegrowing. Investments are needed to recover the wine-growing potential the country had a few decades ago," Anghel adds. ZF
