400m-euro Impact project in Cluj

15.03.2007, 18:50 7

On Tuesday, the Cluj-Napoca local County Council approved the contract under which Impact intends to build 5,000 homes in a new area of the city. The building will take place in the "Dealul Lomb" area of the city, with the investment being estimated at around 400 million euros. SC Impact last year won the tender for a partnership with the Town Hall in order to build a housing district in the Dealu Lomb area. The Town Hall is to contribute a 204-hectare plot, while Impact will invest in building the homes and the necessary infrastructure network (road access, water, sewage, electricity, gas and telephone network). The municipality will get 33% of the area to be used for construction, a plot, which will be made available for the 2,000 young people to whom the Funar administration had previously granted the plots in the Dealul Lomb area. The Bucharest-based builder will also offer 75 homes to the Town Hall, which will be used as council houses. The partnership with Impact has been modelled on the contract with Polus Real Estate, a company that is to build the other housing district on a site held by the town council, located at the end of Muncii Boulevard. One of the main improvements to the contract was the clear stipulation that it is prohibited to sell the land before the constructions are made. The contract also stipulates clear deadlines for the completion of each project.
