A new breed of petrol stations has emerged, dedicated to big transporters

Austrian group OMV, majority shareholder of Petrom, the biggestcompany on the Romanian market, will invest around 3 million eurosto bring onto the Romanian market a new petrol stations conceptdedicated mainly to commercial road transport companies. Thefuelling stations will work under the name OMV Euro Truck, aconcept launched as early as 2007 in Austria. At present there are18 such stations on the European market, two of which are locatedin Romania, one in logistics park West Park, near Bucharest-PitestiMotorway, and the other one on Autostrada Soarelui (Sun Motorway)in Lehliu.
"This year we will open another 1-2 fuelling stations, while nextyear we intend to have 6 such stations in Romania and 45 inEuropean. On average, investment in such a petrol station amountsto 0.5 million euros," said Steen Frederiksen, manager of thecommercial road transport division within OMV.
OMV representatives say such a petrol station reaches full capacityin five years' time, with the sales target being 10 million litresper year.
