City Grill starts 1.5m-euro investments

07.11.2005, 18:11 4

The Bucharest-based restaurant chain intends to invest 1.5 million euros in the next six months in order to open five new locations (three restaurants and two cafeterias), said Dragos Dumitrescu, the company''s founder.

"The City Grill chain will comprise eight locations by April next year, compared with three at the moment. We undertook to make these investments because we want to fructify a series of very attractive locations in Bucharest," Petrescu said. The locations where the company is making investments at the moment are the historical centre of Bucharest, the Baneasa shopping complex, as well as the America House and Oracle Tower office buildings.

City Grill''s most important investment, 450,000 euros, is being made in a 650 square metre restaurant in the historical centre of Bucharest set to open next month.

"The argument that made me invest in the historical centre is that there are a number of financial institution headquarters and major company offices nearby," Petrescu added. Another City Grill project is the opening of a restaurant and cafeteria branded as City Cafe inside America House, a 300,000-euro investment that is to be completed early next year. It will also invest 120,000 euros in a cafeteria in Oracle Tower.

City Grill will invest 300,000 in the Baneasa Shopping Complex, the largest residential project in Bucharest.

"Along with McDonald''s and KFC, City Grill will be the third restaurant chain present in the food court in the Feeria Shopping Centre in Baneasa," Petrescu stated. georgiana.stavarache@zf.ro
