The Targu-Mures based company DAW Benta, producing and importing construction materials, forecasts that turnover will rise by about 30% next year, to 12 million euros, according to the company''s representatives.
"This year, turnover surged by 63%, to 9 million euros, owing to investments the company made to boost the capacity to produce dyes, the launch of new products, the development of the showroom network and the increased production of polystyrene," stated Remus Benta jr., the general manager of the company.
The firm this year started building an adhesives plant close to Targu-Mures, and will invest around 2.5 million euros next year to finalise the new plant and open seven showrooms.
"The adhesives plant will be constructed in Sancraiu de Mures, on the premises of DAW Benta, and the first stage will involve about 1.2 million euros. The plant will start production next February," Benta stated. DAW Benta''s market share in 2005 on the dye and varnish segment stood at around 5%, in line with the company''s estimations, with annual sales on the market as a whole topping 140 million euros. The most important players on this market are Kober Piatra Neamt, Policolor and Dufa Romania.
DAW Benta has operated on this market since 2001, following the alliance between the German company DAW, part of the Caparol group, and the Benta group of firms of Targu-Mures. Part of Daw Benta''s production is exported to Bulgaria.
"In terms of value, exports to Bulgaria in 2005 amounted to 500,000 euros," Benta specified. On the Romanian market, the company''s products are traded through a distribution network made up of 25 showrooms. DAW Benta is part of the Benta Grup, together with Constranscom (house construction), RCB Development & Consulting (developer), Thermopor (a producer of expanded polystyrene), Sweet Home (landscape gardening) and Mobitech (furniture production).
