18.09.2006, 20:25 7

GPV Romania, a member of GVP Groupe in France, European leader in the production of envelopes and other mail-related services for companies, posted a turnover worth 4.2 million euros in the first six months of the year, a 51.5% increase against the same period last year. "The factors contributing to this trend are, on the one hand, the growth of production capacity by the acquisition of new equipment and, on the other hand, the increase in the demand for custom envelopes," Thierry Blain, general manager for Central and Eastern Europe of GPV Groupe told ZF. If the trend maintains, the company management estimates turnover will reach 10 million euros by the end of the year, accounting for an over 50% increase against 2005. "In our line of work, the last part of the year is the most profitable in terms of sales," specified Thierry Blain. According to him, the next 2-3 years will see Romania become a development centre for Central and Eastern Europe for the GPV group. "We are seeing our highest sales in Romania, compared with the other countries in the area. As a whole, our sales in the Central and Eastern European countries where we are present, account for some 12% of the group's total sales. We will continue to invest in Romania, because the market is rich in opportunities, and from a legal point of view, things are starting to head in the right direction," added Thierry Blain.
