Hidroconstructia, the largest construction company in Romania, has secured a syndicated loan worth 60 million euros, from a consortium led by BRD-Groupe Soci?t? G?n?rale, in order to finance and guarantee its medium-term projects. The bank consortium which has granted the funding will provide both the necessary funding to cover the current activity of Hidroconstructia, and the guarantee needed for the company's projects, for a three-year period, according to data supplied by BRD-Groupe Soci?t? G?n?rale. Hidroconstructia representatives could not be contacted for further details. Hidroconstructia holds a portfolio of medium-term contracts worth over 900 million euros, and is one of the leading players on the market of hydropower developments. The company posted over 227 million euros in turnover last year, up by around 40% from 2006, mainly generated by hydropower developments. In fact, the company's main clients are power generating state-owned companies Hidroelectrica, Termoelectrica, ANAR (The National Romanian Waters Administration) and the Ministry of Transport. Apart from BRD-Groupe Soci?t? G?n?rale, as lead arranger, guarantee agent and issuing bank, the consortium also includes four banks: Banca Romaneasca, EFG Private Bank Luxembourg - Bancpost SA, ABN AMRO Bank Romania and Volksbank Romania.
