Highest salary in medical industry: 24,000 euros per month

The healthcare industry, which has the biggest complaintsagainst the state, is actually one of the winners of the economiccrisis and the sector with the highest growth of the last fiveyears, with both drug sales and the National Health InsuranceHouse's budget doubling in that period.
Recent information shows that Robert Popescu, CEO of the A&DPharma group, the biggest player in the local pharmaceuticalindustry, earned 406,000 euros in gross compensation last year,which is almost 24,000 euros in net amount per month. This is thehighest publicly revealed salary of a Romanian executive andprobably the highest salary in the pharmaceutical industryconsidering the size of the company.
His compensation was revealed on the London Stock Exchange wherethe company is listed. It was double the salary of 2008, and comesat the time when the state, one of A&D Pharma's main clientshad an extremely difficult year.
"This is a high salary. Even though there are more such salariesamong executives, they are few and very close to this amount(24,000 euros i.e.)," says George Butunoiu, one of the best-knownheadhunters on the market.
In comparison, the people at the helm of the biggest banks in thesystem get fixed salaries worth 20,000 to 25,000 euros, but thevariable bonuses may double the amount so that they actually make40,000 to 50,000 euros, market information reveals.
