Ilefor: Exchange rate instability is slowing down our growth

05.03.2007, 18:37 7

Furniture producer Ilefor in Targu-Mures estimates an over 6.4m euro turnover for this year, up from last year, when this indicator stood at approximately 6.1 million euros. "The increase could have been better, but since we have deliveries to other EU countries, we are affected by the instability of the exchange rate. Additionally, there was a rise in raw materials and, in particular, in utilities and wage costs," Claudia Florea, financial manager of Ileflor told ZF Transilvania. Last year, the company saw a 10% increase in turnover against 2005, this increase being linked mainly to the increasingly larger number of deliveries on the domestic market, in particular to Mobexpert. "The furniture retailer is our main client on the Romanian market, and the opening of new Mobexpert stores contributed to the increase in furniture demand," specified Claudia Florea.
