Belgian group Delhaize, operator of supermarkets Mega Image, posted business put by ZF at over 120-130 million euros on the Romanian market, compared with the 100 million euros reported in 2007. Delhaize sales in Romania and Indonesia climbed 21.8% last year, to 201.6 million euros, due to the rapid expansion of the store network and to the organic growth, announced the Belgian retailer. In 2007, the Romanian branch of the group contributed 60% to the turnover recorded on the two markets. "We recorded solid organic growth in both countries in 2008," specifies Delhaize's financial report. Previous estimates made by Delhaize representatives indicated an organic growth rate of 20-30% in 2008 against 2007.
