Porsche Romania, the biggest vehicle importer in terms of volume, sold a total of 26,544 vehicles, a 38% increase from the 19,214 vehicles sold during the same period last year. Porsche sells Porsche, Audi, Volkswagen, Skoda and Seat cars in Romania, as well as Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. According to the latest available data, the increase recorded by Porsche Romania comes amid an increase in sales of new vehicles on the domestic market over the last five months by 23.7%, to 135,175 vehicles, against the same period in 2006. Continuing with the same trend as in the preceding months, Skoda remained the most prolific brand in the portfolio selling 11,347 vehicles, against 8,863 commercial vehicles sold last year. With sales of over 3,000 units each, the Skoda Octavia Tour and Skoda Octavia 2 models brought sales to over 10,000 units. VW's total sales, which include those of the commercial vehicles division, stood at 11,694 units, 49% more than in the first six months of 2006, when 7,844 units were sold.
