$1.3m investment in three-star hotel

17.02.2003, 00:00 7

A group of Romanian investors is building a three-star hotel in Aviatiei-Baneasa area, to be dedicated at the beginning of March. "Stil Hotel is a new building, which needs 1.3 million dollars in investments, and which was designed and built by Romanian construction companies," Dragos Paraschiv, the hotel's general manager told Ziarul Financiar. "The investment mainly relies on a credit granted by a Romanian bank," Paraschiv added. The new hotel will have 30 rooms and a restaurant that can accommodate 50 people. "Stil Hotel will mainly target the businesspersons, but also tourists," the general manager said. Since businesspeople are the main target, the rooms will have communications facilities, such as Internet access. The hotel is located in Aviatiei district, an area where business spaces (office buildings) and residential buildings are expanding. According to analysts, the Bucharest hotel market needs several thousand accommodations, with the main deficit posted on the two- and three-star hotel segment. Bucharest needs some 17,000 accommodations, twice the present level (about 8,500), the Tourism Research and Development Institute states. ZF
