Three-star Israeli hotel in Bucharest

17.04.2003, 00:00 7

Israel-based Lev Or will dedicate a three-star hotel in Bucharest around June 15, following a total investment worth about two million dollars, general manager Liliana Chiracu said. The Lev Or Hotel will be a six-story building with 31 single or twin rooms, six flats, a restaurant and a conference hall. The building, which is located on Occidentului Street, will be equipped with a centralised air conditioning system, international phone lines and the guests will gain access to their rooms by cards. "The accommodation tariffs for one night range from $62 for a single room to $95 for a flat," Chiracu specified. She estimated the hotel would see 80%-85% occupancy rate, considering the quality of the accommodations and the area where it is located. "We target the business people that come to Bucharest mainly, which is actually why we had international lines and Internet access installed in the first place. The bathrooms are fitted with jacuzzi and stand out by their luxurious finishing," Chiracu added. Romania has seen 250 million euros invested in 48 three, four or five-star hotels over the last two years. The bulk of this amount went to the hotels in Bucharest. Analysts are saying the deluxe (four or five-star) hotel segment in Bucharest is already a crowded place to be, since demand is not that great. Bucharest would, however, need more three-star or lower hotels. ZF
