Tuca Zbarcea & Asociatii has become the new leader of the business lawyer market in terms of effectively collected revenues, with an 18.5m-euro volume in 2008, according to the financial data ZF got from the biggest firms on the market. Tuca Zbarcea surpassed Nestor Nestor Diculescu Kingston Petersen (NNDKP) law firm, the biggest player of recent years, which reported collected revenues worth 14.8m euros in 2008, while Musat & Asociatii did not disclose the annual income statement it submitted to the financial authority by edition close. According to the information provided by the firm, though, revenues were below the level reported by Tuca Zbarcea. Musat announced it booked fees worth 18.5m euros, VAT included, according to the firm's representatives, an indicator that is, as a rule, around 20% bigger than the value of effectively registered revenues. Income derived by Tuca Zbarcea & Asociatii amounted to 11.6m euros, while Musat announced profit worth 10m euros. In Romania, the main partners of the largest law firms, whose names are to be found in the names of the firms, earn over one million euros per year. The domestic business legal services market is extremely competitive, being put at around 250m euros. For over a decade, the best-known business lawyers were Ion Nestor and Gheorghe Musat, who constantly fought at the top until 2002, when departures started and other firms emerged.
