Turks start 100m-euro investments in Reghin

Prolemn in Reghin, controlled by Kastamonu Entegre, one of theleading players in wood processing industry in Turkey, has starteda 100 million-euro investment in a chipboard plant (a material usedin the furniture and construction industry) and MDF (medium-densityfibreboard - also used in the furniture and constructionindustry).

"The new plant is located near Prolemn. Works started two monthsago and we expect around 200 people to be recruited," said AydinKirtiloglu, trade director of Prolemn.

The company announced its first intentions to build such a plantback in 2007, when several locations were examined, including inBulgaria. The Turks eventually opted for Reghin.

Prolemn posted an around 50 million-dollar (36 million-euro)turnover, with a 20% growth budgeted for this year. The companycurrently employs 500.
