Cameron US group, with 5.5bn dollars in turnover, a specialisedprovider of equipment and services for the oil and gas industry, expects the new plant in Ploieşti to generate turnover of around70m dollars in its first operational year.
The 80m-dollar investment of Ploieşti was completed last year andcreated 300 new jobs, being the second production centre throughwhich Cameron is present domestically.
"We've reached full capacity and we have the 300 employees we hadestimated initially. The last people have been already hired. Ibelieve we'll reach $70m this year in Ploieşti and over 100mdollars in 2011," says Marius Tripşa, general manager of CameronRomania.
The figures forecast for the new facility in Ploieşti are below theinitial estimates putting the turnover at 200m dollars in the firstoperational year.
"The 200m-dollar figure is an optimal level. Results highly dependon the complexity of the product we sell," Tripşa explained.
The US Cameron group operated the Ploieşti investment with the aimof exporting the largest part of production, with potential clientsincluding giants such as ExxonMobil, BP or Statoil (Norway).
