Whisky fuels 38% growth

14.10.2003, 00:00 6

Allied Domecq Romania, branch of one of the world's leading spirits makers, logged $14 million sales in the fiscal September 2002/August 2003 year, up 38% from the previous year, general manager Tudor Furir told Ziarul Financiar. Allied Domecq Romania is one of the main players on the Romanian imported spirits market, and its most important brands include Ballantine's, Teacher's, Jack Daniel's (whisky) and Finlandia (vodka). "We sold more than 400,000 litres of whisky, accounting for half the total sales of Allied Domecq Romania. Ballantine's sales rose 37%, Teacher's 13% whereas Jack Daniel's climbed 67% so that whisky remains our main growth factor," Furir said. ZF
