Auto Rom, the local representative of the German group DaimlerChrysler, last year sold 1,000 Sprinter utility vehicles. Prices for Sprinter vary from 24,000 to 43,000 euros (prices for the standard models, all taxes included), depending on their loading capacity. The company extended its portfolio last week by launching the Mitsubishi Canter light truck. "We forecast to sell 100 units or more on the Romanian market," stated Gabriel Craciun, an Auto Rom official. The Canter range comprises light trucks weighing a maximum 3.5 to 7.5 tonnes, with CIP prices for these models varying from 18,000 to 31,000 euros. "The emerging markets from Central and Eastern Europe are very important to us in terms of the expansion strategy of Mitsubishi Fuso Sales Europe. During the last few months, Canter successfully entered the Baltic countries, the Czech Republic and Slovakia," said Phuong Nguyen, sales manager for Central Europe of Mitsubishi Fuso. ZF
