Corporate contracts drive Happy Tour sales up 19%

Javier Garcia del Valle, CEO of the biggest travel agency on theRomanian market, Happy Tour, which is controlled by Spanishinvestment fund GED, says the company recorded a 19% turnoverincrease in the first ten months of this year against the similarperiod of last year, without specifying the absolute value.
"The growth was largely driven by the corporate segment (servicessold to corporate clients), but the leisure segment contributed, aswell," said Javier Garcia del Valle.
With 25 years' experience on the travel agencies market, Garcia delValle was brought to Romania by investment fund GED at thebeginning of March last year. Happy Tour ended 2009 with an around29 million-euro turnover and a 296,000-euro profit, according toTrade Registry data.
Spanish investment fund GED this year bought 80% in Travel Housetravel agency, with 6 million-euro sales and a 110,000-euro netprofit last year. Travel House International, with 26 employees in2008, specialises in selling luxury packages for domestic andinternational destinations, which used to be held by CorinaSouvannasouck (30%), Stefano Bardi (25%) and Luca Zucchetti(45%).
