Bucharest-based Crowne Plaza hotel, held by Ana Hotels company, posted $3.7m turnover in H1, whereas the revenues derived from event management contributed a lot more than last year. Turnover increased 24% in dollars from the year-ago period and 1.7% in euros. Hotel officials noted increased demand for the event management segment (weddings, conferences, seminars, dinners and cocktails). The Crown Plaza Hotel is part of Ana Hotels, the hotel division of Ana Group, controlled by Romanian businessman George Copos. Food and beverage revenues went up 22% from the year-ago interval and accounted for 40% of the total, according to data compiled by the company. ZF
