DAF trucks worth 20m euros

09.06.2003, 00:00 5

E. van Vijk Holding, sole importer of the DAF trucks for the Romanian market, forecasts sales worth 20m euros this year, up 5 million euros since 2002. "The increasing trend (which accounts for the bulk of the company's revenues) is mainly triggered by the introduction of Euro 3 norms in October 2002 for the import of second-hand autos, which led to the possibility of purchasing an almost new truck for a smaller price. Second, there is bigger demand for utility vehicles aimed at distribution operations and trucks used for special activities - constructions, road works, whereas people are asking for fewer international transport trucks," said the E. van Vijk managing director Sorin Plesa.
