QAB announces 37% growth

23.07.2003, 00:00 7

Quadrant Amroq Beverages (QAB), Pepsi, Prigat, Lipton Ice Tea, Kick soft drinks and Perla mineral water bottler has announced 37% "growth" in Q2, over against Q2, 2002. The company officials, however, did not specify if the sales increase was volume or value-related. PepsiCo products registered the highest growth rate (58%), followed by Prigat (31%) and Perla mineral water (only 8%). QAB's marketing manager Eusediu Margasoiu says the growth is due to the "innovations" and the promotional campaigns run in this period. "The launch of innovative packaging (Prigat Gable Top), of completely new flavours on the domestic market (such as Mirinda Tropical Peach) and of unique brands in Romania (Mountain Dew) generated 25% of QAB's growth in the quarter just ended," Margasoiu said. QAB estimates full-year growth of at least 20% compared with 2002, which would push its sales to about $60 million. ZF
