20.12.2007, 19:26 10

Renault Romania, the importer of the French brand on the domestic market, in the first 11 months of this year sold 29,218 units, around 40% more than in the similar period of last year, according to APIA statistics.
The French carmaker's target for this year points to over 32,000 units, making it the first foreign carmaker whose sales go beyond the 30,000 unit mark. For this target to be achieved, December sales should be around 3,000 units. In November, Renault's sales totalled 2,579 units. According to Renault representatives, campaigns meant to promote the special offers of December benefit from around 5% of the annual media budget.
During this period, Renault has special offers for five car models and for the utility car range. The best selling Renault models domestically were Symbol and Megane Sedan, with 12,219 and 9,343 units in the first eleven months of this year.
According to the previous statements by Jacques Daniel, the commercial manager of Renault-Nissan Romania, the sales target for 2008 points to over 30,000 units, with the new models due to be launched and the REMAT programme, which accounted for almost 5% of the market, being of particular importance.
Renault's most important launch in 2008 will be the new generation of Laguna, the medium-class model of the French carmaker, due to be presented on the domestic market in March 2008. The sales target for Laguna in 2008 will be set subsequently. The model was presented to the public during the Frankfurt Auto Show.
The second most important launch will be that of the new SUV Koleos, due to be presented on the domestic market in mid-2008 as the series version will be launched in Western Europe during the Auto Show of Geneva.
Turnover registered by Renault-Nissan Romania this year from car sales only will exceed 486 million euros, in the context where over 30,000 Renault units, with an average price of 14,000 euros and 3,000 Nissan models with an average of 20,000 euros will be sold. The higher price of Nissan cars is due to the broad range of SUV models, whose prices are higher than 25,000 euros. In total sales, after sales services account for around 10%, according to Renault-Nissan representatives.
