Armani leather clothes made in Hunedoara

25.05.2004, 00:00 10

Italian businessman Alberti Vittorio makes equipment for famous motorbike riders and Armani-branded leather clothes in a factory in Hunedoara. World champions of motorbike racing Loris Capirossi and Alex Baros are just two of the athletes sporting Hunedoara-made gear. The main foreign partner of the Albes Company based in Hunedoara is Spyke, one of the world's leading sports equipment manufacturers. Albes will make some 12,000 pieces of motorcycling equipment. Each piece of equipment sells for between 700 to 900 euros worldwide. The main raw materials used are ovine and bovine skins, imported from Italy. Considering the dangers motorcyclists are exposed to when falling, the suits come with a series of safety elements designed to protect the most exposed body parts. A motorcyclist's protective clothing therefore weighs about 5.5 kilos. The investment made in the factory by the Cerna River as of 2004 amounts to 500,000 euros. ZF
