Citroen Romania launches C3 Picasso in H2 of 2009

Citroen Romania will launch its new super-mini MPV C3 Picasso in the second half of 2009, which will be officially presented this autumn in the Paris Auto Show, according to company officials. The new model will be available with two 95 HP and 120 HP petrol engines respectively, as well as with two 90 and 110 HP diesel engines. Four-metre long, C3 Picasso has a 500-litre trunk, comparable with that of a D-segment model. Citroen opened a subsidiary on the local market on July 1st, 2007, whilst up until then, the brand's vehicles had been imported and retailed by ATS (Automotive Trading Services), held by Prime Minister Calin Popescu-Tariceanu. In the first five months of the year, Citro?n sales on the local market were down 15%, to 1,562 units. The range of models available on the local market has been diversified to include the new C4 Sedan and the C-Crosser, the first SUV of the French carmaker, with deliveries of the new C5, the company's D-segment car set to start this autumn.
