Alcoa Fujikura sees business up 30%

Alcoa Fujikura, a producer of electric wiring for the automotive industry, posted turnover worth 19.59 million euros (64.66 million RON) last year, up 30% against the same time last year. According to the company's management, the main factors behind the increase witnessed in the first nine months of the year were the new production facility in Beius, Bihor county, and the development of two projects for Skoda. The company currently employs over 500 people at its plant in Beius, Bihor county, up from around 300 people at the beginning of the year. Following the trend seen in the first nine months of the year, the company's management preserves its start-of-the-year estimates regarding turnover. Fujikura estimates an approximately 31 million-euro turnover for this year, a 40% increase against last year. Last year, the company posted an approximately 22.2 million-euro turnover, up 32% on 2005, when this indicator stood at 16.9 million euros.
