Alison Hayes: Romania is still a production market

13.02.2008, 19:07 39

Alison Hayes, the local subsidiary of the British ladies' clothing manufacturer by the same name, continues to regard Romania exclusively as a production market and distributes 95% of its merchandise on the UK market to clients such as Tesco and Debenhams. "In order for Romania to become a market where we can sell our products, the market needs first of all to develop. For the time being, there are no big retailers who sell ladies' clothing on the Romanian market, but, as they start to arrive, we will obviously consider working with them," Corina Stoica, financial manager of Alison Hayes, told ZF. For its three divisions (Alison Hayes Moda -design, Britannica -logistics, and production), the company forecasts a 27 million-pound (36.7 million-euro) turnover for this year, up 5% on 2007, when it reported turnover worth 26 million pounds (34.8 million euros).
